It is also famed for its home to the steepest mainline standard gauge grade in the United States! You'll find lots of friendly locals willing to share stories or just say "Hello" in this charming town.

Equestrian folks will enjoy another small, close-by, town; Tryon. Known as the "friendliest town in the South", visitors will enjoy the small downtown which is

home to several great shops and restaurants! Tryon is home to many Equestrian related events, such as FENCE.

In ten minutes you can be taking pictures from a spectacular mountaintop or be shopping in famous Historic Downtown Hendersonville. Hendersonville also offers the Flat Rock Playhouse, Carl Sandburg Home, antique shopping and gourmet dining.

For those that prefer to enjoy the beautiful scenery while sipping on a glass of wine, visiting the local wineries is a must!! We love Rockhouse Vineyards for the great setting and outstanding varietials. Green Creek Winery, which opened in 2005, is fast becoming a favorite and is a great place to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy while sampling.

In just 40 minutes you can visit Asheville and famed Biltmore Estate. (Ask about discount coupons to Biltmore Estate!!!! ) For those that prefer to spend more time in nature, Pisghah Forest, Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are must sees- with waters falls, hiking, horseback riding, rock hopping, tubing and fly-fishing. Mount Pisghah Inn located on the Blue Ridge Parkway offers wonderful views and delicious meals. Western North Carolina Farmers Market provides local fare.
